Taste and odor methods Taste and odor methods The American Water Works Research Foundation (AwwaRF) has published Practical Taste-and-Odor Methods for Routine Operations: Decision Tree, a comprehensive overview of taste and odor analyses for drinking water. The book, the result of an AwwaRF project and pilot study, outlines three new sensory methods for water treatment plant personnel for day-to-day monitoring of raw and finished water. The new methods can be used either in conjunction with or as replacements for more complex and frequently used procedures such as flavor profile analysis and the threshold odor number test. |
