Concentration factor (CF)
Also abbreviated as VCF and VCR, this is the term that quantifies the effect of system recovery on the concentration of the rejected contaminants in a membrane element or operating system. It is mathematically related to recovery by the formula: This equation results from a mass balance based on the assumption that the membrane provides complete rejection of the contaminant in question.
