The bonding of linear polymers into a resinous product with a material such as divenylbenzene (DVB) to produce a tridimensional exchanger product. The degree of crosslinking is a factor of a resin's ability to withstand chemical oxidation and it determines the tightness or porosity of the resin structure. Softening resin is usually eight-percent crosslinked, but can range from six to 10 percent.
