Solar Light Co. of Philadelphia, has launched a compact, reliable system to monitor and measure the output and germicidal effectiveness of UV lamps and arrays used in water and wastewater treatment—the GLM 100 UV lamp monitoring system. It’s comprised of the UW254 submersible detector and the LM100 UV lamp monitor electronics unit. The 254-nm spectral response of the detector is designed to measure the region used for germicidal radiation to kill microorganisms. Of course, in order for microorganisms to receive a lethal dose, UV-producing lamps should be maintained on a regular basis. By doing this, users will get the maximum life from the pumps.
