 UV-C compact system  Clamp spectrometer
<b>Aquionics</b>’ new UV-Pearl features UV-C LED technology, allowing instant full intensity on start-up and mercury-free water treatment. The compact system can operate as a standalone unit or be easily integrated into OEM devices, ultrapure water generators, process water loops, medical sterilization equipment and many other point-of-use applications. The highly efficient UV LED lamps can be tuned to different wavelengths from 240 to 280 nm, allowing targeting of specific pathogens. The system is capable of producing a UV dose of 60 mJ/cm2 at a flow of 0.5 gpm (1.89 Lpm) with only 50 mW of optical power. Aquionics Inc. showcased the InLine+, a unique UV waste water disinfection system that provides higher efficiency based on computational fluid dynamics supported by independent bioassay validation. The InLine+ uses up to 90 percent fewer lamps, ballasts and quartz sleeves than most advanced open channel designs. When the city of Henderson’s (Nevada) Department of Utility Services wanted to upgrade its water system, it turned to UV disinfection. Following a public bid process conducted by the city along with the Nevada State Health Div. and engineering consultant CH2M Hill, Erlanger, Ky.-based Aquionics and Hanovia were chosen to supply a new state-of-the-art UV water disinfection system. Since the installation of ultraviolet (UV) dechlorination equipment from Erlanger, Ken.-based Aquionics Inc., Procter & Gamble has reduced the cost of maintaining the reverse osmosis (RO) membranes at its Greensboro, N.C., manufacturing plant by $70,000 per annum. The number of shutdowns for RO membrane maintenance has also been significantly reduced.
