The design utilizes a pleated layer of electropositive filter media, wrapped around a 0.15-micron absolute hollow-fiber membrane. Each cartridge contains a pleated layer of patented, non-woven filter media matrix infused with nanoalumina fibers, creating an electropositively charged depth filter, which can produce water with ultra-low SDI (silt density index) values. Argonides custom-built stainless steel housings are now available in five sizes that hold multiple 4.5 x 20 (114.3 x 508 mm) Big Blue cartridge filters and attain peak flow rates greater than 1,300 gpm (4921.03 L/min) per housing, 836 gpm (3164.60 L/min) using nominal flow rates. Manufactured from high quality 304 or 316 SS, each housing is 150 psi-rated and uses clamp or swing-bolt closures. HBB-60 and HBB-120 models incorp-orate a three-inch (76.2 mm) flange; HBB-240 uses a four-inch (101.6 mm) flange. HBB-380 and HBB-760 feature standard six-inch (152.4 mm) flanges.
