 Direct digital printing  Blow-molding equipment
<b>Krones AG</b> announces its direct printing system for printing on plastic bottles during ongoing production operation. The process offers significantly more scope for individualized, attractive design of the containers and is ideally suited for supporting marketing campaigns and product launches. Haptics can be married to optics, for instance, or uneven surfaces can be printed on. A picture template can be transformed simply and immediately into a printed image. And variable data like barcodes or best-before dates can also be easily integrated without any problems, all the way through to individual-product tracking. Print heights of up to 200 millimetres can be achieved using UV inks. With modularized, compact construction, the machine is suitable for empty plastic containers made of PET, PP or PE, either cylindrical or special-shaped. www.krones.comKrones AG announces its direct printing system for printing on plastic bottles during ongoing production operation. The machine for containers sized at maximum 0.75 liters (25.3 ounces) is fitted with a newly developed blow-molding station that operates entirely without lubrication, reducing the time needed for manual lubrication of the machine by 70 percent and increasing the machine’s availability levels. Machines produced thus far, integrated into the ErgoBloc L wet-end monobloc, provide users with low-maintenance, simple-to-operate machines with low standstill times. In addition, individual machines can be synergised to form integrated units to minimize complexity of production lines and upgrade efficiency levels. The series has been integrated with Contiroll labelling technology, featuring a Multireel automatic reel magazine plus fillers from the new Modulfill series. It offers total operating costs up to 10 percent lower than for conventional bottling lines and the monobloc’s footprint is 30 percent smaller. www.krones.comKrones AG’s latest generation of the Contiform 3 high-speed, stretch blow molding series offers small cavity (SC) machines for the high-output range of up to 81,000 containers an hour.  Stretch blow molding machines  Modularized labeler
The Contiform 3 is the latest generation of <b>Krones</b>’ stretch blow-molding machine series, available now in a purposefully—in some parts entirely—redesigned version of the individual process steps involved. The blow-molding module has been entirely revamped and the field-proven linear oven of the Contiform S/H series has been design-enhanced and principally optimized in regard to its energy consumption. It has been developed in sizes ranging from eight to 36 blow-molding stations, thus enabling record outputs to be achieved of up to 81,000 containers per hour.

Docking stations feature motorized height adjustment, and different machine sizes offer outputs of up to 72,000 containers per hour. Servomotors ensure maximally accurate dress positioning. For sleeving applications, choose between shrink-sleeve labels with a downstream Shrinkmat tunnel or stretch-sleeve labeling. Also available is optional camera-based alignment of the containers on an embossed marking or a container contour.

The semi-automatic system, integrated into the blowing wheel, shortens changeover time from about 3.5 minutes to less than one minute per blow-molding station. Different mold sets are kept securely in a design-enhanced, human-engineered changing trolley. Unambiguous mold identification using appropriately designated compartments reduces the risk of installation errors and, with a rotating function principle, removal position is always the same for operators.

 Bottler filler measurement checker
Krones AG's Checkmat 753 HF is a stand-alone solution that uses high-frequency measurements to detect bottle fill levels in up to 72,000 bottles per hour with maximized accuracy. Minimized dimensions require only 5.9 inches (150 mm) of conveyor length in the direction of bottle travel for measuring fill levels. The system operates independently of bottle materials, shapes or colors, is designed for user-friendly operation and can be used with all Krones fillers or labelers and other makes as well. The touch-screen xPanel terminal displays all relevant statistical production data as needed. Any desired number of bottle variants can be stored on the internal flash card and software updates can be simply loaded via a USB interface.
