Purolite Corporation introduces its patented Purolite® CT275Ag catalyst, designed to remove iodides effectively in solvents, such as acetic acid. It will remove alkyl iodides below 50ºC (122°F), regardless of the size of the alkyl group. Purolite S-108, new from The Purolite Company, is a macroporous polystyrenic-based anion IX resin with functional groups specially designed for the selective removal of salts of boron from aqueous solutions. It is effective for such solutions over a wide range of pH values and boron concentrations. Boron is difficult to remove, especially in the presence of other, more chemically attractive ions. The S-108 will selectively remove the boron, ignoring other ions and is ideal for radwaste applications for reducing boron to acceptable for discharge or reuse. It can also be used as a de-borating resin in reactor coolant systems.
