 Smart meter  ORP probes
The SAM-1™ Smart Aqua Meter from <b>Sensorex</b>, which is compatible with both Apple and Android smartphones and tablets, harnesses the convenience of hand-held smart devices to measure and record pH, ORP, conductivity and temperature values. The device delivers accurate analytical measurements in the lab or field. It plugs into the headphone jack of a smartphone or tablet and connects to the company’s smart analytical sensors for measurement. The SAM-1 App, available as a free download, instantly recognizes the smart sensor type and calibration data. The interface makes taking measurements and managing data simple and error-free. Time, date and GPS location are automatically recorded with each reading and users may add location name and additional comments. Readings can be shared instantly via email or exported to a spreadsheet. SAM-1 is currently Apple™ iPad®, iPhone® and iPod® compatible and will be available for Android devices in May. Constructed of durable PPS, these probes offer improved chemical resistance and use a higher volume of the company’s proprietary polymer sensor reference gel for longer service life. Advanced sensor technology delivers accurate measurement over a range of 0-14 pH or -1000–1000 mV for ORP. The probes are suited to a variety of applications with a temperature range of 0-80°C and a pressure maximum of 100 psig (standard de-rating applies). Sensorex’s FCL500 Series free chlorine sensors use advanced amperometric measurement technology to provide highly accurate monitoring of free chlorine in process applications. With three models covering the zero to two ppm, zero to five ppm and zero to 10 ppm ranges, the sensors can be used in new installations or as field replacements for existing sensors in drinking water disinfection and distribution applications, food and beverage production, cooling water and other industrial water treatment systems. The new device has an upgraded temperature correction curve for improved performance and a new membrane design that features a mesh reinforcement clamp for increased stability and added durability. The enhanced four to 20 mA isolated signal output eliminates ground loop errors, reduces noise and blocks high-voltage transient surges. For real-time monitoring, these sensors interface with PLC, SCADA and other process control systems via the four to 20 mA output.
